Yesterday afternoon, an extraordinary plenary session was held at the City Council of Campos del Río, where the initial approval of the General Budget for the fiscal year 2018 was discussed.

The breakdown of the document includes the amount of more than 180,000 euros for new investments in the municipality.

Another of the outstanding figures are the more than 805,000 euros that the municipal council allocated in this budget to guarantee public services and the annual maintenance of municipal spaces.

The councilor of Finance, Inmaculada Sandoval, recalled the critical situation in which were the City Council's finances in 2015 and explained that "these budgets are the result of the intense work of the current Government Team during the almost three years that are already legislature where, among many other things, the three adjustment plans prepared by the Socialists have been approved by the Ministry of Finance.

These plans have allowed extending the term of repayment of the financial debt to a low interest, obtaining liquidity for the payment to suppliers of the City Council.

The opposite of what happened with the previous corporation, when governing the Popular Party of Campos del Río, two of the adjustment plans were rejected by the Ministry of Finance of the Minister Montoro, which caused financial paralysis in the City Council and caused four years of loss to be lost. progress to all the camperas and the camperas when being the empty municipal coffers, in red numbers and without intention to improve ".

For its part, the mayor of Campos del Rio, María José Pérez Cerón, announced that these budgets collect a battery of new social measures from which all campers and camperas will benefit directly, such as the new Bono for Educational Material endowed with 60 euros for each student of the CEIP San Juan Bautista and for those who attend Compulsory Secondary Education.

Work will also be started on the drafting of the General Plan for Urban Planning, which will make it possible to regulate the uses of the municipal territory and give legal security to companies and new investors, all with the priority objective of creating new jobs .

Another new feature contemplated in the new municipal accounts will be the implementation of the New Urban Mobility Plan.

The initial approval of these budgets was made with the votes in favor of the Municipal Socialist Group, being against them and the councilor of the Municipal People's Group that attended this plenary session.

The first municipal councilor, María José Pérez Cerón, welcomed the approval of these new budgets and affirmed that "they guarantee the maintenance of public services and allow new investments worth 180,500 euros without raising taxes.

We have managed to set up realistic accounts, balanced and adjusted to the needs of Campos del Río.

We have reduced the financial expenses for the benefit of all the campers and the camperas and we have raised the subsidies to the associations of the municipality, all this fulfilling the objective of budgetary stability that is marked to the local entities by the Ministry of Finance " .

The Plenary also addressed the approval of the municipal ordinance regulating the parking card for people with disabilities.

This item of the agenda was approved unanimously by the entire municipal corporation.
