The Mayor's proposal reflected the need to eliminate these rates because people with disabilities and important problems of mobility were in a clear disadvantage
The plenary session of the campero council unanimously approved the Mayor's proposal regarding the modification of the municipal ordinance of a fiscal nature that regulated the fees for municipal activities provided under public law, to eliminate this rate.
In her argument, the mayor of Campos del Río defended that "since the ordinance regulated, among others, the fee for issuing parking cards for the disabled for an amount close to 47 euros, we propose to eliminate this Rate that does not suppose a less end in the annual accounts of the city council by what we consider beneficial this measure being a social group with characteristics of special protection ".
María José Pérez Cerón stressed that "this government team sees the abolition of this rate necessary because people with disabilities and important mobility problems are in a clear disadvantage compared to other people, to perform a large number of daily activities And especially to access conditions of equality to the communal spaces and services, to perform in a minimum comfort in their usual environment of life, especially when you have to move in long distances as a result of parking, so for these people It is essential to have a parking card for the disabled and its issuance does not imply an economic detriment for the simple fact of having a disability.
"We are pleased that the opposition has joined our proposal and that the plenary unanimously approves it, as campers and campers with disabilities and reduced mobility will be the first beneficiaries of this measure and Campos del Rio will be at the same level as other municipalities in the Region of Murcia where this rate does not exist, "said the mayor.
