The popular parliamentary group has registered a motion in the Regional Assembly to discuss this proposal
The local government of Campos del Río says NO to the modification of the Alguazas / Campos del Río link in the Northwest Arc and shows its disagreement with the attempts of the General Directorate of Roads to curb the economic and social development of the municipality with this proposal and retaining the improvement performance of RM-531 in the Campos del Río section approved in 2018 and since last December with all the required documentation and expropriations completed after the various modifications that have arisen in the project.
The City of Campos del Río has known the intention of the Popular parliamentary group to discuss in the Regional Assembly a motion regarding the modification of the Alguazas / Campos del Río link in the Northwest Arc, a proposal that at no time benefits this municipality and that makes it clear that the improvement in RM-531 will not develop.
It is for this reason that the City Council held during the day of Tuesday an Extraordinary Plenary with the Character of Urgency where it approved a proposal on disagreement to this modification and that has already been transferred to the Socialist parliamentary group, the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Development itself.
Thus, the mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez, “on behalf of my neighbors, I have the obligation to show our deepest concern, for the statements on February 4 of the General Director of Roads of the Autonomous Community and the motion registered by the Popular parliamentary group in the Regional Assembly dated February 12 regarding the modification of the Alguazas / Campos del Río link in the Northwest Arc â€.
The modification proposed by Roads is to transfer the planned link with the Northwest Arc of kilometer point (PK) 9,500 to PK 11,000.
The Northwest Arc highway has been planned since 2010 and the final project approved included departures to the municipalities of Ceutí and Campos del Río.
“The projected exit in PK 9.500 towards Campos del Río is a huge boost for our municipality since, although the main communication route to reach the town is the RM-15 (Alcantarilla-Caravaca de la Crua) highway, the development In the nearby regions, it is mainly based on the A30 motorway in the surroundings of the municipalities of Lorquí, Ceutí and Molina de Segura, with which there is communication through the second level roads RM-530 and RM-531, being this one of the main causes of the brake of the expansion of economic activity of these nuclei until the municipality of Fields of the River, with the consequent increase of the unemployment and aging of our population â€, affirms María José Pérez.
With the direct exit projected in the PK 9.500 towards Campos del Río, the municipality would be provided with the necessary infrastructure for its population and economic development, a factor that has been considered in the General Plan of Urban Planning of Campos del Río.
In addition, through this link there would be the development and expansion of the sector of economic and industrial activity in the eastern limit of the municipality, taking advantage of the incipient activity of the industrial estate of Los Brazos and its integration with polygons of municipalities such as Ceutí, Lorquí and Las Cotillas Towers.
From Campos del Río they also refer to the motion of the Popular group where he cites the claim of the residents of the affected populations (Alguazas and Campos del Río) for the change of location of the projected link, however, in the case of Campos del Río "We oppose this link modification frontally."
The agreement agreed by the Plenary shows the disagreement with the modification of the Alguazas / Campos del Río link in the Northwest Arc proposed in the declarations of the General Director of Roads on February 4 and in the motion registered by the Popular Party in the Regional Assembly dated February 12, which has not been informed or notified to the City of Campos del Río, and therefore our biggest refusal to such modification since, if carried out, this would be a brake on the expansion of activity of the municipality of Campos del Río, with the consequent increase in unemployment and aging of our population and without the possibility of development and expansion of the sector of economic and industrial activity in the eastern limit of the municipality.
Likewise, they request the Ministry of Development to attend the request in the allegations sent from Campos del Río to maintain the exit at PK 9,500 and thus favor the development of the municipality of Campos del Río, joining that point with RM-531 in the direction To this municipality.
The agreement includes requesting to the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure, on behalf of Campos del Río, the projected exit in PK 9,500 is not modified since it would imply the isolation of our municipality with the Vega Media.
In addition, they reiterate the request for action to the General Directorate of Roads for the repair of the RM-531 as it passes through the municipality of Campos del Río, since it has the affected lands since December 2019.
