Currently, a sewing and garment repair shop is being developed in collaboration with Abraham Project and the second phase of the Aliquam Program is being developed with a domestic employee course
The City of Campos del Río, in collaboration with Abraham Project, develops until February 27 the employability project 'Walk between fabrics' with a sewing workshop and repair of garments.
The workshop takes place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30 to 13.30 and aims to learn sewing techniques and repair of garments to offer new job opportunities and socio-labor insertion for participants.
The workshop also has the collaboration of the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, with a subsidy for the sewing machines used in this project, as reported by the Abraham Project association.
Aliquam Program Domestic Employee Course
Campos del Río also hosts, within the Aliquam Employability Program, managed by Copedeco Soc. Coop., And subsidized by the IMAS and the European Social Fund, the second phase of the program with a 2018/2020 Domestic Employee course.
The course will take place until March 6 from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. in the classrooms of the former Campos del Río Office for the most theoretical part and for the most practical sessions there is the collaboration of the residence of the senior citizens' Club de Campos' that has yielded the use of a small apartment that meets the necessary requirements to train in practical contents.
The course has 90 hours of duration with two modules and 15 users of the municipality program participate in it.
This course will allow participants to start their training in the field of home care for dependents, a professional field that is currently in the process of expansion.
The Aliquam socio-community intervention program is aimed at people in a situation of social vulnerability, so it works closely with both the Commonwealth of Social Services of the Mula River and the social workers of the City of Campos del Río, in turn responsible for refer people who join the program.
Since the beginning of the program, 17 people from Campos del Río have been served, mainly women.
There have been a total of four non-occupational training courses with two editions of each in each of the two phases of the program as Pre-Work Competencies for Employment, Training for guidance in active job search, New Technologies for search of employment or gender equality and perspective.
Through this program, in addition, 13 people have obtained the food handler card thanks to the ICT training courses developed in the Campos del Río library, one of them currently running a trade related to the hospitality sector in the village.
Among other actions, it develops employment advice and Aliquam currently has a commitment to collaborate with a total of 20 companies in the region.
After the first phase of the project, which concluded last May, a total of 5 people from Campos del Río, all of them women, had obtained a job after passing through the program.
