The plenary hall of the City of Campos del Río began the month celebrating yesterday an extraordinary session with two important items on the agenda.

The first of these corresponded to the approval of the file, the expenses and bidding conditions of the tender for the integral management service and improvement of the energy efficiency of public lighting in the municipality during the next ten years.

An ambitious contract with a bid base budget of 1,088,092.50 euros including VAT.

The approval was made possible by the votes in favor of the Municipal Socialist Group and the abstention of the Municipal People's Group.

The mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez Cerón, explained that "once the new facilities are finished and the integral service begins, the municipal coffers will save 300,000 euros with this contract, an amount that must be added the economic value that The new contractor will be responsible for taking on the new connections, new generation equipment and new energy-efficient LED luminaires that will save 30% of the consumption that is produced today.

So with this new contract Campos del Río will completely renew and improve street lighting, gain in quality, efficiency and energy savings as well as saving the campers 300,000 euros of public money ".

The second item on the agenda was an extrajudicial recognition of credits, an administrative mechanism that will allow the payment of bills to suppliers of the City Council to be paid for a total value of 33,572.09 euros.

This measure is possible thanks to the existence of sufficient credit in the general budget of the consistory.

The point was resolved with its approval by votes in favor of the Municipal Socialist Group and the votes against the Municipal People's Group.

In the turn of explanation of vote, the first mayor went to the municipal corporation assuring that "thanks to the good, austere and responsible management of savings of this Government Team, today we can approve an extraordinary expense that will serve to face the payment of bills that this City had pending with suppliers, mostly SMEs and freelancers who with their work help us improve our municipality and provide service to the needs that this consistory requires.
